  • July 8th, 2005 is an important date in the history of Public Television Company of Armenia for we became an active member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) according to the decision of other member countries during the General Assembly in Dubrovnik (Croatia) and an opportunity to take part in one of the most interesting, fantastic and magic TV-shows is given.

Millions of heartbeats, 3 exciting hours of expectations and the winner is announced! Well, this was an experience of Armenian viewers during the live broadcast of the semi-finals and finals in Ankara (Turkey) and Kiev (Ukraine). Public TV of Armenia received an enormous quantity of e-mails and telephone calls during the years when we were not an active member of EBU yet and we had no right to participate. The executive board had serious concern about the participation and started the procedure of becoming an active member of honorable European family. The way to Eurovision was hard, as far as Armenia was out of the European broadcasting area according to the Statutes of EBU. So first change in the Statutes regarded the area and from now on Armenia and Georgia are in. It's high time to pass the heartfelt thank you of our viewers to all of the EBU members!

Now it is noteworthy that Armenia is the first country in Transcaucasian region to take part in the reputable European competition.

"Eurovision 2006" gathered 38 family member-countries of the European Broadcasting Union. Andre represented Armenia and despite the short period in show-business and also young age, has already won a serious number of awards in Armenian and international competitions, besides he has participated in numerous concerts and festivals all over the world.

And the Eurovision Song Contest was a big step towards European audience, as Andre made it to the final and secured the place in the next year's final in Helsinki 2007!
